It's all adding up...

So I've been working away at the large order I'm trying to fill
and the deadline is coming at me super fast.

Tonight I finished 218 Daisy Bloom 'bases'.

Which I can add to the other pile of Daisies...

which is added to yet another pile of Daisies...

Which of course is added to the boatload of Daisies...

Which gets me to the magical number of

1,533

It feels good to be done with the Daisies.

Now I can move on to the

1,267

Bitty Blooms that I have left to make.

OH. And we can't forget the number

3

Which is the amount of ibuprofen
that I take before going to bed & when I rise.
(since sometimes I feel like my fingers don't want to work anymore)

When Expectations are Low, it makes SURPRISES that much Sweeter!

I've been super busy trying to get orders out from my last sale, and trying to get started on the big order for my new account. So while I'm spending every waking minute watching the clock, and surveying how much I've gotten done, I've discovered that it's also a blessing as I don't have time to obsess over where we're 'at' with our adoption process. My care package for Charlie should be arriving (via a super cool friend) in Korea in the next week or so. So I figured that my next chance of getting updated photos of Charlie will be when he in goes for his August WBC. Which puts it at maybe the end of August as the soonest for getting photos. Also, I've heard that some 'key people' on the Holt Staff in Korea are actually visiting Holt in Oregon... which again, would slow things down.

So image my surprise when I got home from running some errands
and found an email titled:

NEW PHOTOS

sitting in my inbox.

awesomeness beyond awesome.

So without further adieu,
here is my Charlie!

I'm thrilled to see that he's learning how to 'sit' as we know he's a couple of months behind developmentally. My sweet, sweetie baby is getting so big! (okay, so he's still only 15.5lbs, but I think that's technically bigger than Claire was at this age) Anyway, it's so nice to have a glimpse of what Charlie's like 'now', instead of just wondering, you know?

Okay, so that's all the 'break time' I've allowed myself
for the moment, so it's back to work!

My New Best Friend

It's no secret that I sew all my Blooms by hand
{with the occasional help from my sister when I get a ton orders - like now}

One of my girlfriends is a massage therapist - and she's always
on my case about taking better care of my body
because my shoulders/back gets so locked up. And she also told
me I'm in the beginning stages of tendonitis.
awesome.

Well, my left wrist has been bothering me lately
{but I'm also left handed}
so when we were in Target last night Bob went and found me a brace.

I know, it's super stylish.

{but make no mistake, I didn't get the BOY model}

Honestly, it actually works really nice! And it's so supportive!
I don't know why I haven't gotten one sooner. I even slept with it on
last night. In fact, when I take it off I can tell the difference.
So far it hasn't slowed me up too much, but I haven't tried
doing everything I need to do.
{I did find that I can't cut fabric with my rotary cutter}

But all is not lost, as I discovered I can still do this:

Maybe I can glue some lace to this bad boy and make my own
Madonna glove.

Ahhh.... silence!

Yesterday is over.
(fabulous)

Today has just begun
(even better!)

And I'm more than ready
to move on.
(I think that's something we can all agree on!)

The Squeeze Inn

Bob is a big fan of the show on the Food Network

Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives

so of course (by default) I am too.

One episode talked about a place that happens
to be 'local' to us called
The Squeeze Inn
supposedly
they have the most amazing Cheeseburgers.

For a few weeks now, Bob has been dying to go.
We actually tried on one of his days off, but when we
got there, the line was out the door... at 1pm... so
we turned around and went home.

So the 'plan' this time, was to get there early.
So we got there just before 11am.
Nothing like an early lunch, right?

while we were waiting Claire got some new friends
from the vending machine

I forgot to include Princess Presto
so according to Claire, I had to take the photo again.

We also played the game
'Guess which hand the animals are in'
I know, it looks super hard.

But then my burger arrived so we had to stop playing.
The Squeeze Inn is known for the
'cheese skirt' that comes on the cheeseburgers.
It's perfectly crunchy and tastes ohhhh, so good!

I went to cut mine in half, the cheese just kept coming.

I also folded the cheese skirt under so that I could
get crunchy bits with each bite
(I know, pretty brilliant on my part)

The cheeseburger comes with:
mayo
mustard
lettuce
tomato
onion
pickle
cheese

And it's pretty darn good.
* although I will say that the bun wasn't my favorite *

Overall, The Sqeeze Inn gets
two thumbs up from this family.
(or should that be six?)
