So tonight I was watching 'Cold Case' - I totally love that show. But there was a scene that I didn't want Claire to see (I think it had to do something with blood) so I told Bob to cover her eyes. Well, Claire heard me, and proceeded to 'close' her own eyes. I've never seen her do this before and ... honestly ... I thought it was totally hilarious. So after having her do it a few times, I figured that I might as well 'document' it. I'm not sure WHAT is going through her brain - maybe she's just trying REALLY hard, but nonetheless, it makes me laugh - therefore, I LOVE it. Here's a photo 'journey' of what we saw. I hope you enjoy.

What a silly girl ... and BOY do I LOVE HER!!!

Meet my new BFF's!!!

Okay, so maybe they're not my 'BFFs'. And maybe they're not even actually my 'friends', but I met them, and with some, I got my photo taken. So that's kind of the same thing, right?

I didn't get a photo, but Scott Baio came to my booth. He walked up and asked me how to pronounce 'that word' (pointing to 'Lesiw') and I replied with a short explanation about how to say it, and that my husband is half Ukranian, yadda, yadda, yadda, but the entire time, I'm thinking 'Is this Scott Baio? He's shorter than I thought.. so is his hair.. but that's his name, right? Should I ask? No, don't ask. That's embarrassing.. for both of us... ' and then he left. I forgot to give him some stuff (his wife and daughter were standing a few feet away) so I just ran over a couple of products. He was super nice. So Scott Baio gets 2 thumbs up.

The first person who can tell me who these kids are WITHOUT having to 'Google' them, I'll send you a free Bloom. I only recognized the little boy, and that was after I was told what show he was from, and I realized that he was on the ONLY episode I've ever seen of that show. I gotta brush up on my 'Child Star' trivia.

Can you guess which person DIDN'T wear shine-free powder? I actually have a whole new appreciate for Carnie Wilson. She is due with her 2nd daughter in 5 weeks, and she was SUCH a trooper walking through the show. People were pulling her from all sides and she was so gracious to everyone. I went to just hand her a bag of Blooms and she came right over to the Booth. She was super kind to talk to and the girls in my booth said that for lunch, she sat with all the 'normal' people in the sitting area, and ate from the food court. Gotta love that girl!!!

Somebody got new slippers!!!

And guess who they belong to?!

If you ask me, I think it's pretty sweet to be sportin' hippos slippers while wearing Christmas footed pajamas. Only a really super cool mom would do that. Yeah... that's gotta be it.

3 Cheers for Best Buy!

So have a new best friend. His name is Corey, and he's a manager at Best Buy. This is why I love him.

We bought a 50 inch TV when we moved out here. We also happened to buy a 'service plan' (you know, one of those add-on's that they're always trying to sell you on) with the thought that we'd just use it to get free replacement bulbs. So besides getting 1 or 2 bulbs, we've never had to use it.

Until about 3 weeks ago.

I was watching Anne of Green Gables (don't laugh, it's an awesome movie) with one of my girlfriends and suddenly the TV makes this SUPER WEIRD, loud, humming noise and the color goes all wonky. So I immediately turn off the TV because I think it's going to explode (I seem to think this alot when anything malfunctions - maybe I watch too much TV). Anyway, after a few phone calls, a service visit from the Geek Squad (they now do electronics in addition to computers), a lot more annoying phone calls that say I just have to wait because they're 'looking into it', I FINALLY get a phone call this morning saying that since the process is taking so long, I am being given this confirmation number that entitles me to a FREE REPLACEMENT TV!!!

So I head down to Best Buy this afternoon and that is where I met Corey. Nice boy - his mom raised him right. Not only was he super nice to me, but he gave me a FREE UPGRADE! So now on Saturday we're getting a 61 INCH TV delievered to our house, and they're taking the old one away.

Wow. Right now, I think the only thing that could top this is if I woke up tomorrow and was magically 20 lbs lighter.

I'm so mad I could spit!

I just wrote a new blog entry, and then the stupid thing erased it. So I wrote a condensed version and the stupid thing erased it AGAIN! UGH!!!

So once again here is the lame, short, condensed version.

1) wow - time has gone by fast, we've been busy
2) Claire will be 2 in less than 2 months
3) I need to let Claire walk more - I carry her too much. She says 'No! I walk! I walk!'
4) Technically she can still fit into a baby bjorn
5) Moved my office to upstairs. More room - fabulous!
6) Nice to have the dinning room table back (and surrounding area)
7) Might start cooking more
8) Emphasis on might
9) Preparing for April Show - should be a good one - and I've got HELP now. :)
10) Thinking of having a sale on Etsy - check out littlelesiw.blogspot.com for details, but I'm still working through it... so the info might not be up yet.

Good Things a Comin'

Okay, so there's no photos for this, but I'm so stinking excited I just had to post. Today I just had one of those REALLY good days in regards to my little business I'm trying grow.

I went to Joann's today to see if I could find any more of this one fabric that I'm running out of (and of course they don't have it) and as I went to get a cart to put Claire in, a woman was walking towards me with her cart (she was about to put it away). So I offered to take hers, and then she stopped me and said how much she loved my hair bow (I was wearing one of my favorite Blooms) and well, to make a long story short, it turns out she's a business owner - she started her hair accessory company about 10 years ago. She has a manufacturer, sales reps - the whole sha-bang. She was super nice, super friendly, and she actually took a couple of samples (that I miraculously had in the car) with her because she was on her way to 2 local boutiques that she had accounts with. She was adamit that my Blooms should be in boutiques and that I needed to pursue it right away, etc etc. I was SO encouraged by her words, and her kindess in wanting to help me. So after the 'Holidays' we're going to get together for coffee and discuss 'business' and she's going to allow me to pick her brain on how she's done everything, processes, etc. HOW COOL IS THAT?!??!

And now for my next cool thing...

So I got into this HUGE show this coming spring - crazy how it happened, supposedly an 'invite only' type thing but I got in. Well, they're going to have Celebrity Gift Baskets and guess who get's to be in it! YES, little ol' me! Or should I say, Little Lesiw. Of course I had to pay to be put in, but the competition to be represented is pretty fierce. Again, I was super encouraged by the company that heads up the baskets because they really liked my Blooms as well. One of the owners was telling me that I needed to take my Blooms to BIG retailers, and that I just need to do it, even though it seems hard. So it's been a real boost to see that my Blooms are starting to gather some interest, and people in the 'industry' think that I have potential.

Oh, and Jennifer Gardner will be getting some Blooms in January - SUPER FUN!

Christmas Cards

You know, every year I'm late getting my cards out, and I always think 'Next year I'm going to send them out at the beginning of December...' Well, here we are, almost the middle of December and I just got our pictures done. Oh well. My friend Bree has been my photographer for Little Lesiw and I just adore her work. (visit her website/blog at: breehesterphotography.com) She has been so gracious and kind to put up with my emails that basically say, 'are you available in a couple of days?'.. 'wait, can't do it.. can you do it in a few more days?'... 'wait, can't do that either.'

Anyway, the 3 of us drove to down to her house after dinner the other night and had our own mini photoshoot. I have to say, a 20 month old isn't the easiest thing to take a photo with!

And of course it never fails that each photo you look at usually high-lights one person and the others look bad... but I think we finally settled on one. Here was this year's 'runner up'. I'll probably frame this as a 'family photo' - and the fact that Claire isn't smiling is kind of her 'trademark'. One of these days I'll teach that girl to smile on cue....
