Now doesn't this look good!

Did you notice that we got a little 'make-over' here on the blog? Courtesy of this fabulous shop and $25. I LOVE her designs and I keep trying to come up with reasons as to why I need to buy from her. Plus, she was SUPER nice to talk to. (But enough of that - visit my other blog to see my full 'review' on her)

A month has flown by so fast. Okay, so maybe it's not quite a month, but it almost is. I have NO idea where the time goes, or how it goes, what day it is. Kind of crazy.

But here are few photos from the past few days that I'd thought I'd share (I know, not a very smooth transition)These are the most adorable and creative cupcakes I've seen in quite some time. My friend Megan made them for her son's birthday party. SO CUTE!

Claire loved eating her Monkey Cupcake
(and so did Momma - it tasted delightful. White cake + chocolate frosting = my favorite!)

This is Claire and the Birthday Boy. I love how happy he is to be holding the kite string.

I'm supposed to be 'practicing' for a photography class that I signed up for. Of course I totally forgot and the class is tonight... in like 45 minutes... so I took Claire to the park so I could take some 'shots'. First - I can't remember everything I'm supposed to remember. And second - Claire won't look at me on command. Good thing tonight is only the 2nd class.

Ha HA! I got her to look at me.
She was climbing up a ladder and I was at the top of the structure. But she started to catch on and when she'd start to climb and see me, she'd get down and go to a different ladder. I may have to start recruiting 'models' for my practice sessions.

Ahhh... we're back...

... and you probably didn't even know that we were gone.

Yes, the Lesiw family decided to do a vacation this week. But the problem is that we weren't sure how Claire would do on 'long drives', so we decided to break it up. We left Sunday for Mendocino, and we got back this afternoon. Now on Thursday we'll leave for Monterrey... I know, we're such jet setters.

Anyway, the weather was SO fun: low 50's - high 60's most of the time. So we managed to miss the heat wave back home. (or at least most of it) So here are some photos of what we did while we were there.
Claire walking along the beach... and unfortunately Keen's and rocky beaches don't go well together.

Bob taught Claire to throw rocks in the water - this was one of the only times she actually looked at me when I was taking pictures.

Sea Glass Beach
Rumor has it that there was a tragic love story involving the Glass Factory owner's youngest daughter and one of the workers back around the turn of the 19th century. And then in 1902 disaster struck when a fire destroyed the entire factory. Now all that remains are small, smooth, colorful 'stones' that represent the daughter's undying love that will weather any storm.

Okay, so I just made that story up. Glass Beach is actually the site of a dump back in the 40's. But it's super fun to look for pretty sea glass. I wish I would have brought a bag to put them in.

Claire bringing her 'treasures' to us.

Sea Glass
(my favorite are the green ones... and the really pale blue ones)

Claire enjoying the view... but was pretty much ready to leave.

So tonight I was watching 'Cold Case' - I totally love that show. But there was a scene that I didn't want Claire to see (I think it had to do something with blood) so I told Bob to cover her eyes. Well, Claire heard me, and proceeded to 'close' her own eyes. I've never seen her do this before and ... honestly ... I thought it was totally hilarious. So after having her do it a few times, I figured that I might as well 'document' it. I'm not sure WHAT is going through her brain - maybe she's just trying REALLY hard, but nonetheless, it makes me laugh - therefore, I LOVE it. Here's a photo 'journey' of what we saw. I hope you enjoy.

What a silly girl ... and BOY do I LOVE HER!!!

Meet my new BFF's!!!

Okay, so maybe they're not my 'BFFs'. And maybe they're not even actually my 'friends', but I met them, and with some, I got my photo taken. So that's kind of the same thing, right?

I didn't get a photo, but Scott Baio came to my booth. He walked up and asked me how to pronounce 'that word' (pointing to 'Lesiw') and I replied with a short explanation about how to say it, and that my husband is half Ukranian, yadda, yadda, yadda, but the entire time, I'm thinking 'Is this Scott Baio? He's shorter than I thought.. so is his hair.. but that's his name, right? Should I ask? No, don't ask. That's embarrassing.. for both of us... ' and then he left. I forgot to give him some stuff (his wife and daughter were standing a few feet away) so I just ran over a couple of products. He was super nice. So Scott Baio gets 2 thumbs up.

The first person who can tell me who these kids are WITHOUT having to 'Google' them, I'll send you a free Bloom. I only recognized the little boy, and that was after I was told what show he was from, and I realized that he was on the ONLY episode I've ever seen of that show. I gotta brush up on my 'Child Star' trivia.

Can you guess which person DIDN'T wear shine-free powder? I actually have a whole new appreciate for Carnie Wilson. She is due with her 2nd daughter in 5 weeks, and she was SUCH a trooper walking through the show. People were pulling her from all sides and she was so gracious to everyone. I went to just hand her a bag of Blooms and she came right over to the Booth. She was super kind to talk to and the girls in my booth said that for lunch, she sat with all the 'normal' people in the sitting area, and ate from the food court. Gotta love that girl!!!

Somebody got new slippers!!!

And guess who they belong to?!

If you ask me, I think it's pretty sweet to be sportin' hippos slippers while wearing Christmas footed pajamas. Only a really super cool mom would do that. Yeah... that's gotta be it.

3 Cheers for Best Buy!

So have a new best friend. His name is Corey, and he's a manager at Best Buy. This is why I love him.

We bought a 50 inch TV when we moved out here. We also happened to buy a 'service plan' (you know, one of those add-on's that they're always trying to sell you on) with the thought that we'd just use it to get free replacement bulbs. So besides getting 1 or 2 bulbs, we've never had to use it.

Until about 3 weeks ago.

I was watching Anne of Green Gables (don't laugh, it's an awesome movie) with one of my girlfriends and suddenly the TV makes this SUPER WEIRD, loud, humming noise and the color goes all wonky. So I immediately turn off the TV because I think it's going to explode (I seem to think this alot when anything malfunctions - maybe I watch too much TV). Anyway, after a few phone calls, a service visit from the Geek Squad (they now do electronics in addition to computers), a lot more annoying phone calls that say I just have to wait because they're 'looking into it', I FINALLY get a phone call this morning saying that since the process is taking so long, I am being given this confirmation number that entitles me to a FREE REPLACEMENT TV!!!

So I head down to Best Buy this afternoon and that is where I met Corey. Nice boy - his mom raised him right. Not only was he super nice to me, but he gave me a FREE UPGRADE! So now on Saturday we're getting a 61 INCH TV delievered to our house, and they're taking the old one away.

Wow. Right now, I think the only thing that could top this is if I woke up tomorrow and was magically 20 lbs lighter.

I'm so mad I could spit!

I just wrote a new blog entry, and then the stupid thing erased it. So I wrote a condensed version and the stupid thing erased it AGAIN! UGH!!!

So once again here is the lame, short, condensed version.

1) wow - time has gone by fast, we've been busy
2) Claire will be 2 in less than 2 months
3) I need to let Claire walk more - I carry her too much. She says 'No! I walk! I walk!'
4) Technically she can still fit into a baby bjorn
5) Moved my office to upstairs. More room - fabulous!
6) Nice to have the dinning room table back (and surrounding area)
7) Might start cooking more
8) Emphasis on might
9) Preparing for April Show - should be a good one - and I've got HELP now. :)
10) Thinking of having a sale on Etsy - check out littlelesiw.blogspot.com for details, but I'm still working through it... so the info might not be up yet.
